Zip supports Trees for the Future

Zip are proud to be the first European company to actively support the work of Trees for the Future. Trees for the Future rely on the support of business and organisations to carry out their work, so links with companies like Standard Brands, makers of Zip firelighters, are invaluable. Look out for special Zip packs carrying the Trees for the Future logo available in stores from 1st September 2010.

Planting a tree a minute in Rebu

We did it!  750,000 trees were planted in Rebu in 2010.  For 2011 we plan to develop this further and with Zip's  continued support we will be planting a million trees in the Rebu area.  With the on-going support of the communities on both sides of the Rebu river and their renewed enthusiasm, after seeing the fantastic results of our 2010 efforts, we are pleased to be able to continue to develop this project over the coming months.

With the support of Zip, Trees for the Future aim to plant 750,000 trees around the town of Rebu, Ethiopia over in 2010 - That is equivalent to planting 1.4 trees every minute!

2009 marks the 20th Anniversary of Trees for the Future

Trees for the Future will be kicking off their 20th Anniversary on September 19th with an international celebration in downtown Silver Spring. Events will include speakers from local environmental organisations and cultural presentations, music and food from some of the many countries where Trees for the Future works.

Throughout the year Trees for the Future will also unveil new fund raising and membership goals to help continue the success that the organization has enjoyed for twenty years.
