There is always more that can be done by manufacturers and business to improve their environmental impact on our planet. In our industry, we are particularly sensitive to our environmental impact, and for that reason we plan to take the initiative. In 2008 we launched our Sustainability Initiative, as a consequence of which we are investigating alternative technologies and suppliers of materials to reduce the environmental impact from both the consumption and production of our products. We believe this initiative is part of our responsibility to support our planet's resources and hope this will become an important factor in consumer choice. This is not an unusual or new step for Standard Brands. We have always assumed responsibility for our local surroundings. The waste generated from the products we manufacture are fully recycled back into production and our control procedures ensure that all our liquid discharges are well below acceptable levels.
We aim to do better as we extend this environmental enthusiasm outwards to suppliers and in the performance of our products. |

In 2006 we were awarded an international accreditation (ISO 14000/1) which is independent recognition for the high environmental standards we have achieved across our production facility.
